Michael Roy

Michael Roy, Ph.D., is a Professor of Economic Sociology and Social Policy at Glasgow Caledonian University’s Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health, where he leads the Social Economy Research Group. His primary area of research concerns social enterprise and other ‘alternative’ economic forms. He has written extensively in major international journals on the health and wellbeing impacts of social enterprises, on policy ‘ecosystems’ supporting the social economy, and on innovative funding mechanisms such as Social Impact Bonds. Michael’s publications appear in journals such as Social Science and Medicine, Social Enterprise Journal, Public Management Review, and the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship.
